The Midwest Lowriders gathered in Sterling, Rock Falls, and Dixon, Illinois. They changed the dichotomy of the conservative Reagan era at his very hometown. The Midwest Lowrider Gatherings were the embodiment of "Family Values" The show said no to the standard bikini contests expected at car shows, no to gangsta music at the very height of the genre, no tobocco money and eventually removed alcohol from the successful formula that proved skeptics wrong year after year. and focused on family fun. This film was produced by Edward James Olmos and Nick Athas for HBO.
