Amazing Snowboarding (with my music!)
I just found out a few days ago that 2 of my tracks were used in a snowboarding movie last year.
This demonstrates to me both the upside and downside to Creative Commons licensing. The positive side is that my music gets heard by everyone who watches the movie, which is cool, that's what I want. And because of the CC license, the movie has to be released under the same terms that I licensed my song under, which means that I have the right to show the clip here. I found out about this movie from a very kind guy who emailed me to say how much he likes my music, and that he would tell his friends about it.
But, that leads us to the downside! If that guy hadn't mailed me to tell me about it (he just bought a DVD that the movie was on, and googled my name afterwards) then I wouldn't even have known that my music had been featured! So I have to wonder how many more places my music has ended up without me knowing about it. Also, I don't get paid, obviously, but that is part of the package with Creative Commons.
Anyway, it's fantastic to have my music used to such a cool video, and I hope you enjoy it. They have tinkered with the original mix a bit, but thats fine. Turn your bass up!
The song is called Ion Wind. You can view the whole movie here (featuring a really nice soundtrack from a bunch of other Creative commons artists)

And you can download the whole album that this track is on here: http://www.jamendo.com/en/album/6575
From jamendo.com you can download all the tracks from the rest of the movie too, for free. I can't recommend it enough.
Peace out!
